Mayank Nanavaty

Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

Mayank is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust and Hon. Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Brighton & Sussex Medical School. His areas of clinical interests are medical and surgical cornea, external eye disease, cataract and refractive surgery.

He is lead for the corneal crosslinking and contact lens services at Sussex Eye Hospital. His areas of research interest include, astigmatism, wavefront aberrations, ectatic corneal disorders, endothelial disease, lamellar corneal transplant surgeries, quality of vision, cataract surgical techniques, intraocular lenses and posterior capsule opacification.

He has over 50 publications including randomised controlled trials, Cochrane review, case-control studies, cohort studies and retrospective studies in high impact peer-review ophthalmic literature and over 100 presentations. He is regularly invited to lecture, act as a panellist, as a faculty on various topics of his interests nationally and internationally.

For the past several years, he has served as an accredited reviewer of several high impact peer reviewed journals. He is a council member of the UKISCRS and a member of ASCRS, ESCRS, BSRS and AAO.
